The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean programme, launched in 2018, is a joint initiative between the European Union and several Mediterranean countries. It aims to strengthen scientific cooperation and foster innovative solutions for the sustainable management of water, farming systems and agrifood value chains. The programme funds trans-national collaborative research projects. It is due to run for ten years, with a budget of 494 million euros funded by the participating countries and the EU.
