Agroforestry is a climate-smart approach which opens perspectives for the design of new plantations systems based on regenerative agriculture. A 37-ha series of agroforestry trials have been planted since September 2022, thanks to a fruitful collaboration between Cirad, Hutan NGO, MOPP plantation company in Sabah, and University Putra Malaysia, with the support of the French Embassy in Malaysia (FSPI), Ferrero, and the French Alliance for the Preservation of Forests.
